Metchosin ArtPod is an artist-run collective and gallery located in the rural village of Metchosin, on Greater Victorias West Shore. We support local visual artists by offering opportunities to learn, create, show, and sell original work, and offer the community a venue for engaging with the visual arts. We offer: open calls for art submissions to artists in our region and beyond; externally juried art shows and sales in a professional, gallery setting; show opening events, featured artist talks and discussion forums; weekly drop-in art sessions (Watercolour, Figure Drawing, Nature Sketching); monthly art workshops, resource networks and learning opportunities. Art atelier drop-ins are held during the week, and the gallery is open Fri -Sun, 11-4. Our tours are based in the Exchamsiks River Provincial Park, located on Hwy 16 about 35 minutes west of Terrace or 55 minutes east of Prince Rupert. We can pick you up in either community or you can meet us at the park site which is the launch point for your river adventure!! All tours are day trips which include a shore lunch of wild BC sockeye salmon cooked over the open fire, salads, drinks and dessert. Your tour and river adventure can last from 2 to 8 hours.

The Salt Spring Visitor Centre is located in the heart of downtown Ganges at 121 Lower Ganges Rd. Our knowledgeable volunteer counsellors offer a wealth of information and want to ensure you experience an unforgettable visit. Free local maps, ferry and bus schedules, and our brochure can be picked up at any time. We have free wifi and a payphone is conveniently located outside our door. Tour and local buses stop right outside our front door. There is a bicycle rack available and parking is located behind the Visitor Centre.Unfortunately our building is too old to be handicap accessible but if you visit the Chamber of Commerce office at parking lot level, a counsellor will be happy to bring information to you! Shops, galleries, restaurants, parks and more are a short stroll from the Visitor Centre. See you on Salt Spring Island!
