Bethlehem Centre is a cottage-at-the-lake style retreat and conference centre. Ideal for residential groups of 10-40 people, the Centre offers an all-inclusive experience with full meal service and on-site opportunities for quiet reflection and spiritual path-making. Situated on the shores of Westwood Lake at the foot of Mount Benson in Nanaimo, the Centre is a 5-minute walk from a swimming beach, is surrounded by forest, and is connected to miles of hiking trails. The Centre has an outdoor Chartres-style labyrinth, a finger labyrinth museum, a gift shop, a library, an organic vegetable garden and a contained eco-system outdoor pond. Great Bear Lodge offers grizzly bear tours from May to October at a floating lodge in the Great Bear Rainforest. The park is located within walking distance to downtown Cranbrook for convenient shopping and restaurants. We are close to the Cranbrook History Centre, Fort Steele Heritage Town and much more. There are 5 great golf courses within minutes of the park. Close by is Rails to Trails, the Rotary Walkway, Rotary Park which includes a fabulous splash park and the Western Financial RecPlex (aquatic centre, hockey arena, squash or racquetball and outdoor fitness circuit). Pickle ball courts, softball and soccer fields, are also just a short distance away where you can enjoy your regular fitness and fun activities. We welcome tourists, summer vacationers, family visitors, family reunions, golfers, anglers and sports teams. Campers are encouraged to bring a pressure water reducer valve as the park has a high PSI rating of 115. Power generators may not be used in the park.
