Each raft of 6 to 8 includes one professional REO guide and all the gear needed to safely run the river (lifejackets, booties, wetsuits, helmets). The Haven is a not-for-profit charitable organization located on beautiful Gabriola Island, BC, Canada. Accommodations range from rustic cabins tucked away among the trees to suites overlooking quiet coastline waters. You will feel far from the hustle and bustle of the city, even though Gabriola Island is only 20 minutes by ferry from Nanaimo, or a 20 minute float plane ride from Vancouver. Facilities include an outdoor swimming pool (seasonal), fitness gym, and on-site massage and other bodywork. While you are here, take a walk on beachfront trails, visit local art galleries and shops, participate in morning yoga and movement, or slide into a comfortable chair to catch up on some reading.

Inkaneep Provincial Park is nestled in tall riverside cottonwoods in a residential area. This park offers wonderful bird watching opportunities. Park users should use caution when hiking around this park; poison ivy is abundant in this area. The park is conveniently located just outside of the town of Oliver. Open from the last weekend in June through Labour Day.

This well-treed campground offers a private and peaceful setting for campers of all kinds, with a deep forest on the south end in the first-come, first-served section, transitioning to a wetland on the north end in the reservable section. Lowhee Campground has 47 campsites that can be booked in advance, as well as 33 campsites in the first-come, first-served section. It features a playground, three washroom buildings with flush toilets and potable water, as well as a coin-operated shower house. Bear-proof garbage and recycling bins are offered in central locations throughout the campground. All campsites are equipped with a wheelchair-accessible picnic table and campfire ring. Firewood is available for an additional fee of $10 per day. Campsites are an average of 50 feet long and 14 feet wide and can accommodate most trailers and RVs when backed into the sites. Pull-through sites are available in the Forest Rose Campground. Lowhee Campground is located along the west side of Barkerville Highway, 2 km north of the Barkerville Visitor Centre. Guests can travel back and forth from the Historic Zone to Lowhee via the highway, or via a well-groomed walking path alongside the highway. Lowhee Campground is part of the 1,100-hectare property that forms Barkerville Historic Town & Park and is managed by Barkerville Heritage Trust.
