The Barn building on our property was left empty at the end of our horses lives. Not wanting to have the building unused, we eventually decided to expand our home-based art and photography business which had been housed for years in our much smaller studio into this great new space. After months of renovations ART IN THE BARN GALLERY was born. We went on, to further renovate space to house Gabriels full-service, in-house Photography Studio and a full service on site framing shop. We both have a long history of working in Victoria as well as years of experience in our professions and work spanning Canada and other countries. It is fabulous to have such a wonderful place to showcase our work. While we predominantly display our own art and photography, we also occasionally host other talented people with locally made artwork for display and sale which includes pottery, jewelry. A must see. Home to the Worlds Largest Sculptured Anvil! We are open from April 1st until September 30th, 7 days a week. Something of interest for every age. Kids of all ages love our scavenger hunt, rope making, tomato and egg sorting demonstrations. Visitors learn how people lived without electricity and can see first-hand wooden ice boxes (early refrigerators), see early windmills that pump water and produce light. nearing 100 years old and still running! For the middle aged and senior visitors our artifacts bring back many memories of how folks lived. Remembering what life was like as a kid, seeing the transition from horse power to engines. The collection of artifacts by the Association has evolved from focusing on farming equipment only, to including historical artifacts depicting all aspects of pioneer life. The Museum collection has grown to over 6,100 historical artifacts of farming equipment and pioneer life in British Columbia, on display in two buildings and an outside exhibit area.

Our drop-in tour hours are from 1-4 PM Monday-Friday. Trethewey House Heritage Site is operated by Heritage Abbotsford Society, a registered non-profit. Our mission is to collect, record, preserve and share the stories of Abbotsford. We offer a range of programs and experiences including site tours, exhibits, historical Abbotsford walking tours, and more - all by donation. The Heritage Site consists of Trethewey House, Joey's Playhouse, the Upper Sumas Train Station, a Heritage Gallery, and the Sylvia Pincott Heritage Habitat Garden. Trethewey House was built in 1919-1920 by Joseph Ogle "J.O." Trethewey. As President of the Abbotsford Lumber Company, J.O. was responsible for leadership of the company during the company's boom years in the 1920s. The House is built in the local Craftsman style and was constructed using primarily local materials, making it distinct from other buildings of similar age within the City of Abbotsford.

This Farmers' Market offers a unique experience with a permanent outdoor marketplace during the spring/summer including vendor booths, a food barn, a bandshell for local music and a miniature train that runs during the Sunday market.
