Heli-Skiing & Cat-Skiing

There is no better place on planet Earth to experience heli- and cat-skiing than in British Columbia. Heli-skiing was born in the mountains of BC more than 50 years ago when a few intrepid skiers though of taking a helicopter into the remote otherwise inaccessible terrain. Years later, a similar experience was born when snowcats began taking skiers into the lower-elevation untracked powder where lifts do not go. The result? An exhilarating, exclusive, unforgettable experience.

In BC, add in legendary powder, impossibly vast alpine terrain spread out over 10 mountain ranges, and the world’s largest concentration of heli- and cat-ski operators.

While many of the tenured areas in BC are suitable only for strong, experienced skiers, there are some areas where moderate skiers can safely enjoy the thrill. Certified guides throughout the province can help direct you to the trip that’s right for your experience and ability level.
