Kamloops

A meeting place of rivers, cultures, and bold adventures

Kamloops, the largest city in the Thompson Valley, sits at the meeting point of the North and South Thompson rivers in Interior BC.

These desert-like benchlands, marked by ponderosa pines, sandstone canyons, and hoodoos, are within the homelands of the Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc, whose leadership, stories, and enduring presence continue to guide this place.

This industrious city, a gateway to Nature’s Heartland and the Rainforest to Rockies route, honourshonours its railway and ranching roots, while embracing arts, culture, and a growing food and wine scene. In summer, outdoor adventures abound. Visit one of 100 lakes for paddling and fishing, hit the mountain biking trails, or tee off on scenic fairways. In winter, head to Sun Peaks and Harper Mountain for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and downhill thrills.
