Similkameen Valley
Explore a serene oasis of nature, orchards, ranches, and wineries
The Similkameen Valley in British Columbia’s arid southern interior—filled with orchards, ranches, and wineries—is known for its ethos of organic farming and diverse wildlife.
This lesser-known area is located on the territories of the Syilx and Nlaka’pamux First Nations (among other First Nations and Indigenous groups) along Highway 3. This part of the Rainforest to Rockies route brings you from Vancouver to the Okanagan Valley.
In this iconic Valleys & Vineyards area, you can picnic, camp, river float, and taste the terroir at local wineries. Follow the Bronze Sculpture Walk in Princeton or stop by farm stalls in Keremeos, known as the “Fruit Stand Capital of Canada.” Manning Park is the area’s classic old-school resort for Nordic and downhill skiing in the winter, and outstanding hiking, camping, and swimming in summer.
