Vancouver & Area
Diverse and ever-evolving, Vancouver pulses with urban ocean energy. Beyond the city, the Sea-to-Sky Corridor and Fraser Valley & Canyon communities connect to mountain roads, river canyons, and fertile valleys.
Ocean, forest, farmland, and mountain—this corner of BC links vibrant city life with living cultures, outdoor activities, and awe-inspiring natural beauty.
There’s a rhythm to Vancouver—flowing through forests, paths, galleries, markets and kitchens. As Canada’s West Coast gateway, it moves with the ocean. Traditions, languages, and ideas converge in unexpected ways.
Along the Sea-to-Sky Highway, days follow the mountain weather and steep terrain. In the Fraser Valley & Canyon, roots run through fields and river corridors. Build momentum, seek variety, or slow down – take your pick.

Nature Next Door
Vancouver lives between trees and the tide. Paths wind through forests of fir, cedar, and spruce, while beaches, wildlife and the North Shore peaks are close by. The expansive Seawall and Stanley Park rainforests aren’t just icons—they form the backbone of a city, hold deep cultural meaning, and were home to the Squamish Nation village X̱wáýx̱way. North along the Sea-to-Sky Corridor, mountain ridges tower over Howe Sound’s islands and inlets. Inland, the Fraser River, with its commanding canyons and rich valleys, continues to sustain life and community as it has for thousands of years.

Cultures in Motion
These places remain under the care and governance of many First Nations, including the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam Indian Band), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation), Líl̓wat, and Stó:lō Peoples. Their relationships with these territories continue through leadership, stories, traditions, and their care for the land. Generations of newcomers have also built homes here, contributing to a colourful cultural landscape reflected in neighbourhoods, food, festivals, galleries, and music.

Get Outside
Whatever the weather or season, spending time outdoors is a given. From snow-covered slopes to forested trails and riverside greens, there are many ways to move through the landscape. Mornings might bring a bike ride or a guided walk with a First Nations ambassador, with afternoons spent paddling, relaxing, or golfing under big skies. Galleries, gathering places, and events reflect the character of the land and people. Vancouver’s celebrated dining scene—Michelin-starred to street-side—offers a way in, and just like art and culture, is shaped by season, story, and setting.
