The Ladysmith Gallery hosts two art shows a month that are open to the public - a monthly member art show featuring a variety of artworks around a different theme from Vancouver Island and Gulf Island artists; followed by a 10 day guest artist exhibition. The location also features a curated gallery boutique shop with smaller artworks from over 50 artists. The boutique holds seasonal offerings as well. Other events that take place at the Ladysmith Gallery are art pop-ups with interactive art experiences, prestigious art exhibitions such as the biennial Fine Arts Show and late night shopping opportunities during the December season. Located in the heart of downtown Ladysmith, the Ladysmith Gallery is seconds away from local shopping and restaurants. Operates approx May 15 - Sept 15 each summer. A small, family-run campground located on Osoyoos Lake, near the Town of Osoyoos in BC Canada. Established in the 1960's this campground has always catered to families, seniors, couples and single travellers. The campground accepts tents, small/medium-sized RVs and also offers to those needing a simple budget sleeping unit several camping cabins and bedroom cabanas - these rooms comes with beds, mattresses, lights, electricity, a fridge, sink, mini-stove, and outdoor patio (weekly stays only in summer). Although an older park, Cabana Beach Campground has unique features that you will not likely find at older/rustic or provincial campsites : the 3-sided "kitchen cabana" shelters come with a picnic table, sink, light, and elec outlet and are included at most of the tent sites, with optional fridge rental available. Some modern amenities are also:fully tiled, coin-op showers, free use of central wifi, free use of air-compressor hose to quickly fill up your air-beds, bike tires, and all your floating water toys. Park owners live on-site. This park has strictly enforced common-sense campsite rules - No noise or behaviours which annoy or disturb other campers. For this reason, radios or tv's must be off by 10 pm, and "quiet time" is at 11 pm . There is one (perhaps) unusual rule - No Dogs are accepted. No fires either - but the main reason is there is often a complete regional fire-ban all summer long. Campers can still bring a propane fire pit. Also a campstove or barbecue for grilling!

U'mista Cultural Centre is one of the longest-operating and most successful First Nations cultural facilities in BC, founded in 1980 as a ground breaking project to house potlatch artifacts which had been seized by government during an earlier period of cultural repression. The return of the potlatch artifacts not only provided U'mista's name ('the return of something important'), and sparked a general trend toward repatriation of First Nations and cultural artifacts, it caused the creation of a physical facility and human resources infrastructure which have been successfully operated for over two decades.U'mista now operates a modern museum and cultural education facility in Alert Bay. Their operations include the museum, an extensive art gallery and gift shop, group tours, and presentations by dance troupes.
