Formally, Nicholas Sonntag Marine Education Centre, TidePools is a unique collect-and-release aquarium located inside Gibsons Public Market in the seaside town of Gibsons, BC. TidePools houses 30 exhibits displaying natural habitats and local marine fish and invertebrates from the waters of the Howe Sound. This includes interactive touch tanks and scavenger hunts! The animals are collected by our team of professional SCUBA divers. The animals are then housed in the Centre for 6-18 months, depending on the species, and released back to the ocean with help from the entire community. Displays are always changing, allowing the diversity of the marine life we have in the Howe Sound to shine. We host formal education programs with schools, run summer camps and bring in experts to deliver engaging presentations on ocean topics. Come visit us soon!

Located beside Rocky Point Park and across from the Brewers Row, there’s lots to see and do. We have a Food Truck onsite, and we’re steps away from Rocky Point Ice Cream, Pajo’s and the Water Park. The Museum, formerly the Port Moody Station Museum, is owned and operated by the Port Moody Heritage Society (PMHS) to promote and increase the awareness and knowledge of Port Moody’s heritage and history. Exhibitions at the Museum include the Historic Port Moody CPR Station itself, now in its 3rd location. See artifacts and walk through the parlour, kitchen, and telegraph room, recreated to reflect the station as it was in the 1930s. The Museum is currently featuring the exhibit ‘Port Moody Industries’ & ‘Our Living Languages: First Peoples Voices in BC’, on loan from the Royal Museum of BC, and our own ‘Inclusion’ Exhibit. We’re committed to Reconciliation and sharing the histories of Indigenous Peoples. Enjoy community displays, the Heritage Garden and the Meditation Garden. Our restored 1921 CPR railcar, the “Venosta”, is available to explore or to rent for events.
