Welcome to the Roedde family's home. Gustav and Matilda Roedde settled in Vancouver in 1888. Gustav opened the first bookbinding business in Vancouver and by 1893 moved into their new house in the West End. Roedde House is attributed to famed architect Francis Rattenbury and is a City of Vancouver-designated Class A Heritage House. Since 1980, the Roedde House Preservation Society has taken painstaking care to renovate and furnish the house to reflect the ambience of late Victorian family life. Peachland is a picturesque community located in the Southern Interior of British Columbia, a part of the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Region. Peachland boasts an uninterrupted 4-mile beach trail with an abundance of water activities such as paddle boarding and boat rentals. During Summer, Swim Bay (wheelchair accessible) is the only lifeguarded beach on Okanagan Lake. Walk the Ray Kandola Pier, which stretches along the Peachland shoreline for 408 feet. The pier offers fishing bays, benches, and beautiful unobstructed views. Situated across from Heritage Park, the Peachland Visitor Centre and Museum resides in the unique 8-sided former Baptist Church built in 1910. The ground floor is wheelchair accessible, and there is a large Model Train Display of the Kettle Valley Railway on the second floor; fun for all ages!
