The Nelson Museum, Archives & Gallery is a multi-faceted organization with a history museum exhibition, regional archives, two contemporary gallery spaces and a fabulous gift shop. The history museum features an introduction to the Sinixt and Ktunaxa nations, culture and perspectives, the history of European exploration and the challenges of trade and travel routes, and how various industries such mining, transportation, hydroelectricity affected the area and the creation of the Queen City. Our galleries rotate exhibitions eight times per year and feature everything from contemporary art and pop culture, to fine craft and design, to local architectural and social history the Nelson Museum's exhibitions connect to this areas creative energy and rich heritage. The gift shop features wares from over 100 local artists and authors. If you are looking for a gift that reflects Nelson and areas abundant talent and craft, you will certainly find it in our superbly curated Shop.

You can expect all of our delicious core beers to be available fresh and cold, as well as limited release brews that will be available exclusively in our tasting room! The BC Wildlife Park is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue & rehabilitation of injured wildlife. The majority of the Parks animals are rescued, including Clover, the only Kermode Bear in human care in the world. Located in the beautiful setting of Cates Park, this site offers Kayak and SUP rentals run by Deep Cove Kayak - all just 100m from the beach. Same great kayaks, stand up paddleboards, and knowledgeable staff. No experience required - basic instruction and all necessary gear included. Please note that midweek we are open by-reservation.
