Our small-group Hop on Hop off "Artisan Trail " shuttle is the perfect way to explore, sip and savour your way through some of the best local artisans & attractions on the Salt Spring Island! Starting in the heart of Ganges Village, we head out of town and off the beaten path on a spectacularly scenic 28km loop trail that winds its way through forested roads and seaside scenery, with epic stops at • Spring Island Cheese & Goat Farm • Salt Spring Brewing Co. • Burgoyne Bay Provincial Park • Garry Oaks Estate Winery • Ciderworks & Salt Spring Apple Co. • Ganges Village & Public Market Along the trail expect to discover delicious locally made offerings such as charcuterie, pastries, chutneys, spreads and home baked sweets to pair with at many of the stops! Nanaimo Museum: Discover Nanaimos fascinating history in our museum located in the VI Conference Centre. The main gallery offers a sense of what life was like for Nanaimo's earliest settlers and the Snuneymuxw First Nation. Our award winning replica coal mine is a popular stop. The museum also manages the Bastion, an original Hudson's Bay Company post built in 1853. O'Keefe Ranch was founded in 1867 by Cornelius O'Keefe. His family lived on site for 110 years before it was opened as an historic ranch, meaning it still houses one of the most complete collections of one family's stuff (from the Victorian and Edwardian eras) in all of the province. Today O'Keefe Ranch is operated by a non-profit society and is a registered charity. Come visit us during our open season from May to October - stroll along the boardwalk, visit our original buildings (set up as they were more than 100 years ago!), visit the Greenhow museum, and go say hello to our many farm animals.
