Welcome to the Museum of the Cariboo Chilcotin. We are situated on Broadway Avenue South, Williams Lake serving on the traditional territory of the Secwepemc, Tsilhqot'in and Dakelh Nations. The Museum is a tribute to Williams Lake and the Cariboo Chilcotin regions. If you are looking to step back in time come on in we would love to open our doors to you. Nestled in the Cariboo Chilcotin, the Museum provides history and displays on the region, local ranching and rodeo heritage, it is also the home to the BC Cowboy Hall of Fame as well as exhibits on Indigenous Peoples, Railway, Mining, Medical, and Forestry just to name a few. Admission is by donation supporting local and provincial heritage. We gratefully acknowledge the support of the Federal Government of Canada, the Province of British Columbia, as well as the City of Williams Lake and the Cariboo Regional District in partnership with the Central Cariboo Arts and Culture Society.

The Okanagan Golf Club offers two 18-hole championship courses nestled amongst spectacular ponderosa pine forests and emerald greens: The Bear Course, designed by Nicklaus Designs and The Quail Course, designed by Les Furber. Little Straw Vineyards is a family-owned estate winery with vineyard plantings dating back to the late-60's. The majority of our wines are made from our estate-grown grapes. We offer an electric array of wine-related condiments, regional literature, and gift items to round out your visit. The Slamkas planted their vineyard in 1969 with the intention of selling grapes to large commercial wineries in the area. By 1996, the three Slamka sons had established their own beautiful winery overlooking the Okanagan lake in West Kelowna. The Sidhu family owners of Kalala Organic Estate Winery they took over ownership in 2021 and have kept the Slamkas legacy alive. They brought Organic farming to Little Straw's Vineyards which added organic certification as one another achievement in Legacy of Little Straw.

Your day will start with a scenic jet boat trip down Quesnel Lake to the Cariboo Mountains Park and into the wetlands of the Mitchell and Penfold Rivers. This eco system is as it has been for all time. Your senses will be rewarded with sights of Salmon swimming in the crystal clear river, beavers swimming with tree branches in their mouth. Rounding a bend in the river you can spot grizzly bears feeding on the returning salmon. Large Giant Ancient Cedar Forests surround you so you have the chance to hike in un-spoiled wilderness. This adventure can be extended for up to a week by staying at our out post cabin at the end of the North arm of Quesnel Lake. The river will be full of red sockeye salmon. You will need to bring a telephoto lens for those shots of a life time. You will see Grizzly cubs with thier mothers as well as big male grizzlies.
