The Salt Spring Visitor Centre is located in the heart of downtown Ganges at 121 Lower Ganges Rd. Our knowledgeable volunteer counsellors offer a wealth of information and want to ensure you experience an unforgettable visit. Free local maps, ferry and bus schedules, and our brochure can be picked up at any time. We have free wifi and a payphone is conveniently located outside our door. Tour and local buses stop right outside our front door. There is a bicycle rack available and parking is located behind the Visitor Centre.Unfortunately our building is too old to be handicap accessible but if you visit the Chamber of Commerce office at parking lot level, a counsellor will be happy to bring information to you! Link River is a spectacular campsite located on the shores of Alice Lake and Link River. This campground offers amazing fishing, boating, swimming, and so much more. Open year-round, with paid bookings required from May to October while our caretaker is on-site. From October to April enjoy free camping on a first come, first serve basis. Please be aware that during this time, the park is user maintained. Link River campground has seen substantial updates and expansion recently, including the creation of several new group sites & pull-through sites. There are 2 sheltered BBQ areas, concrete boat ramp, beach, playground, horseshoe pits, axe throwing, Yardzee, and accessible washrooms. Propane firepits are available to rent (propane not included), and can be used during seasonal fire bans. There is no power, potable water, or sewer services. The Village of Port Alice is a short drive away and offers everything you could need including sani-station with potable water.

During the pandemic, the Sidney Street Market was transformed into the "Sidney Outdoor Markets". Its new location off Beacon Avenue, next to the Mary Winspear Centre, hosts two markets per week throughout the summer.
