Historic Joy Kogawa House is the childhood home of Canadian author Joy Kogawa. Joy and her family lived in the house until 1942, when they were sent to an internment camp along with thousands of other Canadians of Japanese descent. Now used as a site for author residencies and literary events, the house stands as a historical reminder of the internment experience of Japanese Canadians during WW2.

We offer 10 log lakeside cabins. And over 20 campsites all located on Fishpot Lake. The main lodge has a licensed resterant, small convienence store and sells basic fishing and hunting supplies and tags. We have a swim dock with diving board and can boast nice swimming through the summer months. We rent boats with electric motors and a canoe as well for touring around the lake. We also have a boat launch, but we do have a motor boat restriction size of 10 horsepower or less gas motors. We have a covered barbeque area and a playground for children as well. Island Römer Adventures offers exceptional guided kayak tours in and around Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. We offer a 4 hr tour around Saysutshun (Newcastle Island) and a 7 hr tour to Decourcy Island.
