Selkirk Mountain Experience: Durrand Glacier Chalet
Selkirk Mountain Experience has been listed as a "Best Adventure Travel Company on Earth" by National Geographic Adventure, three times. We are a family owned and operated adventure travel company, based at the Durrand Glacier Chalet, outside Revelstoke BC. This is a remote lodge, accessed by helicopter only. During summer months we offer alpine hiking with over 90 km of trails in a pristine and exclusive setting. Our 18 guests and resident marmots and mountain goats are the only beings using this trail network! In the winter we offer backcountry skiing, in the mecca of alpine powder skiing. Our 96 square km of private tenure offer some of the best skiing on earth, both in the alpine and in the trees. Glades, burns, 30+ summits, 10+ glaciers and the deepest snowpack in the Selkirk Mountains. In addition to the Durrand Glacier Chalet, we have two smaller chalets which we use to do overnight ski trips into the further reaches of our area. All three huts are clean, cozy and beautiful wooden chalets. The Durrand Glacier Chalet is our home base, with 11 private bedrooms and a spacious washroom facility steps from the bedrooms. This facility includes hot running showers, sinks and full indoor plumbing attached to a septic system. We also have a new sauna built in summer 2020 (primarily for winter use). The Durrand has fabulous alpine cuisine, with a private chef and a full staff of friendly, hard-working SME family.
