Big Bar Guest Ranch is proudly owned by Stswecemc Xgattem First Nation (SXFN), a community located in a semi-remote area on the the Fraser River, approximately 85 kilometers southwest of Williams Lake. Once two distinct bands, Canoe Creek (Stswecemc) and Dog Creek (Xgattem), our two Secwepemc communities joined together in the late 1800s. We honour our separate histories and our coming together. In the 1860s, more than 10,000 people traversed the Caribou Wagon Roadin search of a new life, land to raise cattle, or a gold strike. Harry Marriott, an immigrant from England, started working for the notorious Gang Ranch, one the largest ranch in Canada. Marriot acquired smaller ranches and land parcels, eventually consolidating them into the O.K Ranching Company, with access over 200,000 acres of cattle country and wilderness. Marriott partnered with his friend and Vancouver banker, George S Harrison and sectioned off 100 acres of their mutual land acquisition for his personal use. This was the beginning of Big Bar Guest Ranch. Much is unchanged since the Harrison family used Big Bar Ranch as their family retreat. The original family home, "The Harrison House", built in 1936 with logs and stone hewn and selected from the property, continues to provide a cozy retreat for guests on holiday relaxing in the great room in front of the fire place, or playing a cowboy song on the guitar in the music room. Big Bar guests have access to the original acreage of the OK Cattle Company, and can venture out across unspoiled pasture lands and forests. What has changed is that Big Bar Guest Ranch is now a part of our shared community vision of becoming an economically and politically self-sustaining community living Secwepemc culture, language, and traditions in a healthy and safe environment. Stswecemc Xgattem First Nation invites you to Big Bar Guest Ranch to experience the dramatic landscape of traditional SXFN Territory: interlocking valleys and plateaus, situated between bold and snow topped mountain ranges. This par 71, 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Design course winds along a gentle valley floor offering you a spectacular setting as your golfing skills are tested to the fullest. Nestled in Sinclair Canyon, Radium Hot Springs, located in British Columbias Kootenay National Park, includes a hot soaking pool and cooler swimming pool. Whether you are visiting the local golf courses, skiing, snowboarding, or just passing through, the Radium Hot Springs are not to be missed! Radium Hot Springs mineral water is uniquely odourless and clear, making this the perfect place for a relaxing soak. Gaze up at the rock cliffs see if you can spot one of the bighorn sheep that make this canyon home. The kids will enjoy swimming and diving in the cooler swimming pool (29C). There is so much to enjoy year-round, including nearby hiking and walking trails, picnic areas and all of the amenities of a full-service town.

We produce small-lot whites and reds from premium grapes grown in the Okanagan Valley. We are open daily from April through October. Come see us in Okanagan Falls - we're located on the same site as Meyer Family Vineyards, just short walk through the vineyard.

The Elkford Motor Inn is a full service facility offering rooms, restaurant, pub and liquor store. We are located in the heart of Elkford in close proximity to shopping and recreation facilities. The hotel has 22 rooms, some with one king or queen bed and others with two queen beds. Each room has a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot for your convenience. Those traveling for business or work may call the hotel for corporate rates. Emi's Restaurant is open 7:00am to 10:00pm for dine in and take out. Sneaky's Pub is open 11:00am to 2:00am daily. The Liquor Store is open 9:00am to 11:00pm daily. They offer a variety of wines and liquors as well as cold beer and coolers. We look forward to seeing you during your stay in Elkford.

Family Farm B&B is a hobby farm situated on a lovely 5 acres in the quiet town of Powell River, BC. In the presence of a host, guests can visit with various animals, including chickens, ducks, geese, cows, and goats. There are various free activities for adults and children (depending on season and availability), including goat-milking, cheesemaking, and vegetable gardening. Breakfast is included.

The West Coast Railway Association presents the story of how the railways were a catalyst in the creation of Western Canadian communities and their economies. This is done primarily at the Railway Museum of British Columbia (formerly the West Coast Railway Heritage Park) in Squamish, BC, where the collection of 95 heritage railway locomotives and cars are exhibited in a typical small community setting. WCRA also operates the Locomotive 374 Pavilion in Vancouver.
