Built in 1903 this beautiful house was remodeled into a B&B with 8 unique rooms. The house sits on 87 acres has a salt water swimming pool, meditation labyrinth, walking trails and peaceful gardens. The property is adjacent to the Nature Trust Conservation lands, Chehalis River Hatchery and Sts'Ailes Reserve lands. Nearby are golf, skiing, boating and wildlife viewing opportunities. During the pandemic, the Sidney Street Market was transformed into the "Sidney Outdoor Markets". Its new location off Beacon Avenue, next to the Mary Winspear Centre, hosts two markets per week throughout the summer. The new location offers plenty of nearby parking, larger, less crowded laneways to walk, convenient public washrooms and a wonderful variety of local and regional growers, producers, artists, musicians and creators that consist of many of our old favourites along with loads of new, exciting vendors. All of this is still just steps away from beautiful downtown Sidney and the many shops, restaurants and waterfront walkway. The Sidney Famer's Market takes place everything Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm beginning on Mother's Day, May 8 and ending on September 25. Established in 1916 as part of the Dominion Experimental Farm, now the Summerland Research and Development Centre, the 6 hectare, Summerland Ornamental Gardens was designed to help residents, choose ornamental plants for their gardens that would be suitable for the dry Okanagan climate. In collaboration with Agriculture Canada, the site is maintained by the non-profit society, the Friends of Summerland Ornamental Gardens. As you stroll through the Gardens you will have views of Okanagan Lake, Giant's Head Mountain and the Trout Creek Trestle railroad bridge, an outstanding engineering feat constructed for the Kettle Valley Railway. Visit the demonstration garden beds and learn principles of water-smart gardening with the diverse Welcome Garden, Xeriscape Garden, Butterfly Garden, Vegetable garden, Canadian Heritage Rose garden, Fairy Garden and more. The gardens are open year-round. Our society gratefully requests a minimum donation $5.00 per person to keep us growing.

Skeena's Base Camp utilizes quonset style tents to house their guests. The double occupancy bedroom tents are insulated, have a floor, are heated and have electricity. The tents are furnished with real mattresses, wool comforters, comfy pillows and Skeena supplies towels as well as organic shampoo and conditioner. The "common" tent contains the kitchen, dining area and lounge. Moist Pacific air colliding with the cold, dry air from the interior creates the huge dumps of perfect powder snow that Skeena is famous for!!
