During the pandemic, the Sidney Street Market was transformed into the "Sidney Outdoor Markets". Its new location off Beacon Avenue, next to the Mary Winspear Centre, hosts two markets per week throughout the summer. The new location offers plenty of nearby parking, larger, less crowded laneways to walk, convenient public washrooms and a wonderful variety of local and regional growers, producers, artists, musicians and creators that consist of many of our old favourites along with loads of new, exciting vendors. All of this is still just steps away from beautiful downtown Sidney and the many shops, restaurants and waterfront walkway. We are an artist-owned fine art gallery specializing in traditional west coast style art of the Pacific Northwest. The gallery is on Tseshaht lands and houses Gordon Dick Studio while showcasing the work of local and regional artists. We carry handmade woodcarvings and jewelry, including masks, panels, free-standing or wall-mounted sculptures, doors, poles, and house beams. Located at the hub of the Pacific Rim, the Alberni Valley has many treasures for you to discover. Nestled amongst the evergreens under the ever watchful presence of Mount Arrowsmith, you will find one of these at the Alberni Golf Club. This traditional golf course has a rich history extending back to the 1920's. While there have been many improvements to the course over the years you can nevertheless feel the spirit of those who have roamed the fairways before you. There is ample enjoyment and challenge for golfers of all skill levels. This par 70 jewel follows the contours of a salmon bearing stream which comes into play on several holes and also makes its annual contribution to the world's salmon capital, Port Alberni.

Brigadoon is a unique 9 hole course with 2 par 4 holes and 7 par 3's, playing to 1500 yards. Golfers of all ages and playing abilities will enjoy the course, but those expecting an easy par 3 will be surprised. The atmosphere at Brigadoon is friendly and welcoming, with the course open to the public 7 days a week, no tee times. The coffee's always on!
