Kootenay-Columbia Discovery Centre
The Kootenay-Columbia Discovery Centre offers environmental education programs, events and tours at the Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area (CVWMA). The CVWMA is a 17,000 acre wetland habitat that is internationally recognized as a wetland of importance (Ramsar Site) as well as an Important Bird Area of Canada. Educational initiatives include: school programs, summer nature camps, guided canoe and walking tours, and a variety of special events suitable for people of all ages. Join us seasonally from May-October for programs. Access to trail systems that meander through the wetland is possible year round. Viewing towers and boardwalks provide unique opportunities to explore this magical place.
Sol Mountain
Located in the Monashee Mountain range, Sol Mountain provides you with the quintessential BC backcountry lodge experienceQuiet and consistently epic. Our reliable snowpack delivers legendary backcountry ski touring; summers are all-time alpine. From Revelstoke, we are a 20 minute flight away, or a 2.5 hour drive in summer. Its deep, its remote. Family owned and operated by Aaron and Sabine Cooperman, we designed Sol to feel like our home off the grid, with all the comforts. Guests have private rooms, with indoor bathrooms, showers, a dry room for gear, wood-stove heated sauna, yoga and stretching studio. Legacy Lodge at Rivers Inlet
Carved into the rugged coastline of British Columbia 250 nautical miles north of Vancouver, Legacy Lodge sits within the Great Bear Rainforest in the protected waters of Pendleton Bay at the mouth of the famed Rivers Inlet. Legacy Lodge is more than world class fishing; it's about friends sharing the adventure of exploring North America's last wilderness, experiencing humpback and killer whales, dolphins, eagles and a night sky full of stars so bright they'll keep you awake!Legacy Lodge was hand crafted on large floats from indigenous materials. The two story guest building includes 7 private guest rooms and 6 suites which nicely accommodates 20 guests. Legacy recently expanded with two additional guest buildings offering five additional suites, accommodating 10 guests. Traditional salmon fishing for Chinook and Coho salmon are available from July through September in calm, secluded waters throughout Rivers Inlet. Halibut, Yellow Eye and Lingcod are also plentiful in these waters all summer. Heli-fishing for huge northern Coho salmon (20 lbs. plus) within the pristine rivers of the BC coastline is available during September and October, and wild Steelhead fishing from helicopters are available during April and May.Legacy Lodge offers exceptional fly fishing for Pacific salmon on the calm, protected waters of Rivers Inlet. The dense populations of Coho and Chinook in the waters surrounding Legacy Lodge are aggressive, and will take your fly..... and 200 feet of backing off your reel in seconds! Known around the globe for its magnificent scenery and unparalled salmon fishing, the waters of Rivers Inlet teem with some of the largest Coho and Chinook Salmon in the world. In fact, more 50 to 60 pound Chinook salmon are caught in this fjord-like inlet each year than in any other area in British Columbia. Full of energy and fight, these salmon can battle for hours, over incredible distances.Rivers Inlet lies within the Great Bear Rainforest, the planets last large expanses of coastal temperate rainforest. At 8+ million acres, it is 5 times the size of Banff National Park and represents one of the most diverse ecosystems on the planet. With an unmatched biological output of 500 tons per acre, it's 40 percent greater than tropical rain forests.
