Cabins do not have cooking facilities, so on-site lunch and dinner options are available, including packed lunches for your daily adventures. Take a peaceful stroll along our lake trail or hike the ridge trail past beaver dams for lovely valley views. Wildlife is part of daily life here from hummingbirds gathering at the feeders on your porch to the local bear nibbling flowers in our field. After a day spent chasing waterfalls and wandering rugged trails in Wells Gray Park, unwind by the outdoor fire pit beside the creek, or paddle across our little lake as the sun sets behind the mountains. Surf Junction Campground i located at the entrance of the Pacific Rim National Park and the UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. The campground sits on 50 acres, in the privacy and peace of the forest, but just 5 minutes from the town of Ucluelet and 5 minutes from world famous Long Beach and Kennedy Lake Provincial Park. Sandspit/K'il Kun, is the southernmost community on Haida Gwaii, and the only community on Moresby Island. We are the last stop and gateway to Gwaii Haanas. Our community's many nearby bays and trails offer exiting places to explore coastal life and set up a base for your next adventure. We also pride ourselves on our gift shop which is a beautiful space to browse while you wait for your flight, where you will find books, souvenirs, and local art before you leave the islands. Bike rentals available. The Sandspit Visitor Centre is usually opened on flight days, around plane times. Please note the Sandspit Visitor Centre is sometimes closed at short notice due to staffing shortage. The Centre is also usually closed if a flight is cancelled.
