Historic Joy Kogawa House

Historic Joy Kogawa House is the childhood home of Canadian author Joy Kogawa. Joy and her family lived in the house until 1942, when they were sent to an internment camp along with thousands of other Canadians of Japanese descent. Now used as a site for author residencies and literary events, the house stands as a historical reminder of the internment experience of Japanese Canadians during WW2.

Located on the shores of beautiful Comox Lake, the Cumberland Lake Park Campground consists of a total of 59 sites ; 20 are serviced (electricity and water), 6 are RV unserviced, and 33 are unserviced. Site options consist of forested and lakefront choices. There are also two group sites that will accommodate up to 25 people and is available for booking all summer. Max stay is 14 days during July and August. Monthly rates are available in May, June and September.
