The Cranbrook History Centre is a landmark site located in Cranbrook BC. U'mista Cultural Centre is one of the longest-operating and most successful First Nations cultural facilities in BC, founded in 1980 as a ground breaking project to house potlatch artifacts which had been seized by government during an earlier period of cultural repression. The return of the potlatch artifacts not only provided U'mista's name ('the return of something important'), and sparked a general trend toward repatriation of First Nations and cultural artifacts, it caused the creation of a physical facility and human resources infrastructure which have been successfully operated for over two decades.U'mista now operates a modern museum and cultural education facility in Alert Bay. ONSITE BICYCLE RENTALS on one of British Columbias wonders. Experience a part of the historical Kettle Valley Railway route built between 1912-1914. This well-established, interactive 24km trail is highlighted by 2 tunnels and 18 trestles. It offers spectacular views of Myra Canyon and Okanagan Lake. It is the best outdoor activity in Kelowna for the whole family. The track is located at an elevation of 1.260 meters, it is relatively flat and can be cycled within 4 hours. We rent new, branded comfort bicycles in sizes for adults and children, tandems and tag-alongs or child trailers to pull the little ones, tandems, and tricycle. Rental times May-October: 9am-1pm, 1:30pm-5:30pm.
