Our 2-bedroom, bed and breakfast is in beautiful West Courtenay, which is approximately 90 minutes north of the Nanaimo ferries (via the 19A Oceanview route, or 70 minutes (via the Inland Highway), 15 minutes from the Comox Valley Airport and about 15 minutes from the Powell River Ferry Terminal. There are 6 golf courses, including the world-class Crown Isle Golf & Country Club. Beautiful parks and hiking trails just a short walk or drive from Arbour Cottage B & B. Mount Washington, Strathcona Provincial Park and Paradise Meadows only 32 minutes away. B & B within driving distance to unique shops in downtown Courtenay. Two bedrooms available, both queen. Low Season (October to April) $120; High Season (May to September $130 (breakfast included). Shared bath. Patio available (weather permitting) for our guests use. While everyone enjoys the wine and the view when they come to visit, the most asked question would have to be about our name...On a cool spring morning in 1929, a small crew from Okanagan Falls set off to a deserted mining camp some 16 miles away from home. Their mission: to dismantle an old wooden church and bring it back to Okanagan Falls.The plan called for a controlled blast of four dynamite sticks inside the church in order to "loosen the nails". Odd as it may seem, the explosion spared the wood from damage during dismantling.Save for losing the steeple, the plan succeeded. Now the 103 year old wooden church stands proudly in its second home of Okanagan Falls and is still an operating United Church. In keeping with its rather remarkable history, the church has since withstood the threat of two major floods, including the disastrous burst of the Okanagan Falls Dam in the early 1950's.In naming our VQA wines "Blasted Church" we celebrate the ingenuity of the initiative to move the church and honor those pioneers for their vision.

Grizzly Bears, return each August for the salmon run in Toba Inlet. A cycle that has taken place for a millennial on the traditional territory of the Klahoose First Nation. Against a breathtaking backdrop and from viewing platforms, we have optimal sight lines to view the bears in their natural habitat. Located on the shores of beautiful Comox Lake, the Cumberland Lake Park Campground consists of a total of 59 sites ; 20 are serviced (electricity and water), 6 are RV unserviced, and 33 are unserviced. Site options consist of forested and lakefront choices. There are also two group sites that will accommodate up to 25 people and is available for booking all summer. Max stay is 14 days during July and August. Monthly rates are available in May, June and September.
