The Fort Nelson Heritage Museum is situated just West of the historic Mile 300 milepost on the World Famous Alaska Highway. The museum is located in Fort Nelson, BC, Canada and is operated by the Fort Nelson Historical Society. Fort Nelson is the gateway to the Northern Rocky Mountains and the Muskwa-Kechika Management Area. Mission Statement: To preserve and share the human, natural, and transportation history of the Fort Nelson area. Housed in 8 buildings, the museum offers countless displays and artifacts. View displays on forestry, fire fighting, mining, oil & gas, communications, construction, and wildlife. The museum is also home to a large collection of vintage automobiles.
