Stags Hollow is a family-owned winery in Okanagan Falls, producing some of British Columbias most distinctive wines. Located in BC's South Okanagan, in the new sub-geographical indicator (sub-GI) of Okanagan Falls, Stag's Hollow Winery owns two vineyards... Stag's Hollow Estate and Shuttleworth Creek. Always innovative, with a spirit to be unique and push the limits of grape growing and winemaking in the Okanagan, the team at Stag's Hollow has researched and sought out new and old grapes suited to the area's soils and microclimate. These include Tempranillo and Albariño from Spain, and Dolcetto and Teroldego from Italy. These unique varietals offer a new tasting experience for the Okanagan Wine lover. Although these grapes come from all over the world, wines we produce from these grapes are identifiable, as being from nowhere else in the world but from the Okanagan Valley. Ridge Wilderness Adventures and Rentals is an outdoor adventure canoeing company operating in the Lower Mainland. We work with many school groups, girl guides, scouts and private groups all over BC, offering many day trips, overnights and multi-day canoe and camping adventures. We also provide canoe lessons throughout the summer season, and Red Cross Certified First Aid September to June each year. We specialize in Wilderness First Aid and our hands on instructors provide high level wilderness first aid instruction to SAR,DFO, and BC Parks ; as well as public first aid programs offered locally in Langley, Chilliwack, Vancouver, and Vancouver Island. We've traveled all over BC, Alberta, and the rest of Canada, as well as England and China; providing world class training in both canoeing and first aid. Our Rentals Operation is located at Kearsley Creek Campground, and offers Canoe, Kayak and SUP rentals all summer long on the beautiful Stave Lake!
Bethlehem Centre is a cottage-at-the-lake style retreat and conference centre. Ideal for residential groups of 10-40 people, the Centre offers an all-inclusive experience with full meal service and on-site opportunities for quiet reflection and spiritual path-making. Situated on the shores of Westwood Lake at the foot of Mount Benson in Nanaimo, the Centre is a 5-minute walk from a swimming beach, is surrounded by forest, and is connected to miles of hiking trails. The Centre has an outdoor Chartres-style labyrinth, a finger labyrinth museum, a gift shop, a library, an organic vegetable garden and a contained eco-system outdoor pond. The Tumbler Ridge Museum is home to the Dinosaur Discovery Gallery and the Peace Region Paleontology Research Centre. The central display features a full-scale re-creation of a 100 million-year-old dinosaur track environment, with additional displays on dinosaur and other vertebrate tracks and traces, which make up the vast majority of the terrestrial vertebrate record of western Canada. The interactive theatre provides several presentation options for visitors to view and learn about the pre-history of the Peace Region of British Columbia. During the summer the Gallery offers Trackway Tours, Day Camps for kids ages 7 13, and Drop in programs for kids and families of all ages. The Tumbler Ridge Human History Gallery is housed in the Community Centre with free access during regular Centre hours.
