We are a family-owned winegrowers, producing premium small lot red wines and white wines. We grow all our own grapes and produce our wines on site. Visit our tasting room for informative and entertaining tastings and to purchase special wines not available anywhere else. The Latch Inn, on Harbour Road in Sidney, is steeped in history and a glamourous past. In 1925, the Lieutenant-Governor of British Columbia, Walter C. Nichol, commissioned famous architect Samuel Maclure to build him a summer home on a piece of forested property on the Saanich peninsula. The residence, completed in 1926 and coined Miraloma', was a brilliant confluence of the environment and artistic design. Even today, it oozes an old-world elegance and charm. Once the playground for the upper crust, it hosted sumptuous garden parties and welcomed visits from dignitaries and royalty. Edward, the Prince of Wales, and his brother George enjoyed the classy and comfortable accommodation in a state tour of British Columbia in 1927. In the 1940s, it became known as The Latch', reflecting the fact that every door in the house is opened with a latch and iron key.

Our winery is located in south east Kelowna just 10 minutes from downtown. We produce small lot Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and aromatic white wines. Winemaker & General Manager Grant Stanley sources premium fruit from a select few Okanagan growers and our home vineyard. We showcase the unique terroir of the microclimates of which these varietals are grown. Our winery is evidence of what one man with vision, determination, and a little luck can accomplish. Proprietor and winemaker, Ted Kane, developed a passion for winemaking at a young age. Many Alberta winters were spent learning and planning how to accomplish his ultimate goal; owning and operating a winery in Canada's premiere wine producing area, Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country. 10 years after acquiring it, this perfect piece of raw land has been transformed into a 7 acre vineyard producing several varieties of high quality fruit, a fully functioning winery with a boutique tasting room and, most importantly, our family home. We specialize in the Bordeaux varietals, but also have a selection of white wines and a unique, full bodied Malbec Rose.
