Built in 1926 by the Canadian Pacific Railway, the course was redesigned by Canadian Architect Thomas McBroom. The contoured, tree-lined fairways are easy to walk and make this challenging par 71 course appealing to players of all levels.The large rolling greens make scoring a challenge and, with its narrow fairways, accuracy off the tee is paramount. We offer units with hot water, showers, toilets, fridges, stoves with ovens and bar-b-ques. We also have units with just cold running water and toilets. There are rustic cabins available with outhouses. We have waterfront and upper section campsites. There are centrally located washrooms with coin operated showers for those guests who do not have these amenities in the unit. There are electric motorboats, rowboats, kayaks canoes and pedal boats available for rent.

This building is truly special. It is one of only a few commercial buildings in BC from this era with intact interior elements. It contains all of the counters, shelving, gas lights, string holders, paper dispensers, as well as a cash register, weigh scale, coffee grinder, cheese wheel and many other items that were used in the operation of the store. The museum aslo contains information on Ainsworth's rich history in the region. Stepping into this store is truly like stepping back in time. The museum also hosts an artisan gift shop filled with beautiful handmade goods as well as an amazing selection of crystals, gemstones, singing bowls, leather goods, and eco friendly Canadian made clothing.

The SS Moyie National Historic Site

The Kootenay Lake Historical Society is the custodian of the S.S. Moyie, the world's oldest intact passenger sternwheeler. The Moyie plied Kootenay Lake for 59 years - it is now a National Historic Site and Museum. Open from May through October, visitors are taken back in time when the board the vessel. Fun for families and people of all ages!
