Started in 1904 by the Butchart’s and still privately owned by the family, The Gardens was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 2004. A Garden for all seasons, open year-round. In Spring, countless tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths offer a buffet of fragrances and colours. Summer is truly stunning from dawn past dusk featuring the Rose Garden, evening entertainment, subtle night illuminations, and the Saturday firework shows to name a few. Stunning perennial borders start their show in late summer, and the Japanese maples turn to russet, gold, and red in the fall. Holly Hill Petting Farm is the proud home of Vancouver Island's only baby wallabies! We're an interactive and expansive petting farm nestled in the heart of Campbell River. There's always something special happening at the farm, from the Christmas Stable with Santa to the Easter Extravaganza and Pumpkin Patch. From March through October, you're invited to explore and immerse yourself in our free-ranging barnyard. Get ready for a truly hands-on experience as you hold chickens, snuggle baby bunnies, brush mini goats, and hand-feed our friendly alpacas and horse. If you're lucky, you might even witness the birth of a newborn sheep or goat! Currently open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM for drop-in visitors.
