We are a Non-profit Society preserving the history of the area that shows what life was like back in the Gold Rush days. The 108 Heritage Site has buildings on site going as far back as 1880. The buildings are opened everyday from May long weekend so people can see some of the great artifacts that they hold. The 105 Mile Roadhouse is open to the public to walk through. Our knowledgeable staff and students will be happy to give you a tour and talk about the house and how it was used then. The 108 Heritage Site runs mainly on donations from guests who appreciate and love the history behind the good old days

Haida Style Expeditions is a Haida Owned and Operated, family business practicing sustainable tourism on Haida Gwaii. We provide a variety of cultural tours into Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve, Marine Conservation Area, and Haida Heritage Site. Guests will have the opportunity to visit ancient village sites, meet the Haida Gwaii Watchmen, watch for wildlife, and experience nature on any one of our three different tours into Gwaii Haanas. On our West Coast Tour, we explore the Ancient Village site of Ts'aahl (Chaatl) where one can view two of the last frontal poles still standing since contact and learn about the history of the village. Historic Joy Kogawa House is the childhood home of Canadian author Joy Kogawa. Joy and her family lived in the house until 1942, when they were sent to an internment camp along with thousands of other Canadians of Japanese descent. Now used as a site for author residencies and literary events, the house stands as a historical reminder of the internment experience of Japanese Canadians during WW2.
