Anuttara Ashram is tucked away in the sacred mountains of the Nass Valley, in the Nisga'a Nation. With 100 acres of forest, water falls, cliffs and sitting right next to the Nass River we provide a quiet oasis for anyone seeking to retreat into the stillness. We provide 3 healthy, vegetarian/vegan meals a day along with guided yoga and meditation.

In the heart of the planets only inland temperate rainforest, board one of our specially designed boats for this smooth but exciting River Safari. Explore up to 12 kilometers of the spectacular Grizzly Bear Valley where the bears decide when and for how long we stop along the way! As you are travelling through glacier-fed rivers and lakes and going where it seems no boat has gone before, we hope to see wildlife among the river banks. In addition to an information-packed narrative, guides will point out glaciers and many waterfalls toppling from the surrounding snow-capped mountains. The River Safari is an absolute must-do activity. Your point of departure is conveniently located just north of Blue River off of Yellowed Highway #5, halfway between Jasper and Kamloops, as well as halfway between Mt. Robson and Wells Grey Park. The Fort Nelson Heritage Museum is situated just West of the historic Mile 300 milepost on the World Famous Alaska Highway. The museum is located in Fort Nelson, BC, Canada and is operated by the Fort Nelson Historical Society. Fort Nelson is the gateway to the Northern Rocky Mountains and the Muskwa-Kechika Management Area. Mission Statement: To preserve and share the human, natural, and transportation history of the Fort Nelson area. Housed in 8 buildings, the museum offers countless displays and artifacts. Located within a Provincial Park, we are the only resort resting on the shores of spring fed Echo Lake. We have 7 rustic lakefront cabins, all with their own deck & dock to enjoy the view from. Our 35 campsites vary from serviced (limited power) and unserviced forest sites, and serviced or unserviced waterfront sites. U'mista Cultural Centre is one of the longest-operating and most successful First Nations cultural facilities in BC, founded in 1980 as a ground breaking project to house potlatch artifacts which had been seized by government during an earlier period of cultural repression. The return of the potlatch artifacts not only provided U'mista's name ('the return of something important'), and sparked a general trend toward repatriation of First Nations and cultural artifacts, it caused the creation of a physical facility and human resources infrastructure which have been successfully operated for over two decades.U'mista now operates a modern museum and cultural education facility in Alert Bay. Our days are filled with searching for grizzly bears in the lush Khutzeymateen Inlet and estuary, with bald eagles, seabirds, seals, waterfalls and mountains.
