A year-round lakeside resort offering self-contained cottages and suites, some with private hot tubs. Every unit is on the lakefront with a breathtaking lakeview from a private deck. Lake activities enjoyed include fishing, swimming, canoeing, ice fishing and boating. Complimentary canoes and rowboats are available. Local trails are great for hiking, biking and cross-country skiing. Many trails accessible by quad, ATV and snowmobile. We are on the Kettle Valley Rail Trail. Games room with pool table, ping-pong, foosball and air hockey is open for guests. Small playground, community bonfire evenings until 10:00 pm. WiFi available for an extra charge. Located in Brentwood Bay B.C., The Butchart Gardens is a world famous 55-acre (22ha) display garden. Started in 1904 by the Butchart’s and still privately owned by the family, The Gardens was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 2004. A Garden for all seasons, open year-round. We have day trip and overnight options for any thrill level. At just 3.5 hours from Calgary, 1 hr from Fernie and Cranbrook, we are too close not to join the fun!

Founded in 2004, the Smith Family built Howling Bluff Estate Winery and vineyard from scratch on our farm on Three Mile Rd that is now part of the famous Naramata Bench wine region. We released our first vintage, the 2006 Sauvignon Blanc, in the spring of 2007. Four BC Lieutenant Governor awards, one Silver in the Decanter World Wine awards, one Red Wine of the Year award, and too many other accolades to count later, Howling Bluff is now focused on finding the best expression of our vineyard for our wines while making sure we create a legacy of a sustainable family winery that our children will continue with far into the future.
