Opened to the public in 2013, the Fernie Museum is located in the heart of historic downtown Fernie. The museum offers two floors of exhibits, a gift shop, archives and visitor information services. The main floor permanent exhibit highlights the story of the Fernie region, from the use of the area by the Ktunaxa to underground and open pit mining to the development of Fernie as a four-season resort community. The second floor gallery features rotating art and history exhibits. The Museum also offers a range of programs throughout the year, including popular themed walking tours during the summer. Museum staff are on hand to help guide your paths as your explore our museum, community and the environment around us whether it is on the ski hill or on our many hiking or biking trails. Public washrooms are available and the facility offers barrier free access.

Harrison Hot Springs, a vacation destination, is just 4 km from our country inn, which is nestled beneath Green Mountain, on a lush grassy meadow, surrounded by a mature forest. A queen bed, as well as a 4 piece bath area, are included in the privacy of each suite. 'The Cedars', a selfcontained, romantic cottage getaway, is ready for your arrival. Historic Joy Kogawa House is the childhood home of Canadian author Joy Kogawa. Joy and her family lived in the house until 1942, when they were sent to an internment camp along with thousands of other Canadians of Japanese descent. Now used as a site for author residencies and literary events, the house stands as a historical reminder of the internment experience of Japanese Canadians during WW2.

The Visitor Centre is within walking distance of many of our 170+ chainsaw carvings sculptures including the annual competition carvings. Basic facilities are public washrooms, high-speed internet with coffee lounge and is pet friendly. Bikes and sport equipment is available for free use during your visit.
