What makes our art gallery extra² special? Established in 1992 on Salt Spring Island by the forever Benevolent Dictator, Matt Steffich (left) 1958-2020. Representing artists of the highest level, hosting notable shows for Norval Morrisseau, Abraham Anghik Ruben's masterful soapstone carvings, wildlife artist Robert Bateman and sole Canadian representatives of Kinetic wind sculpture artist Lyman Whitaker. The coolest ongoing Rock and Roll Art exhibition of original vintage concert posters from the Fillmore West and Winterland Ballroom, San Francisco as well as rock concert photography by Dee Lippingwell, and iconic Bob Masse collectable concert posters. McLean Mill is a rare, surviving example of an early-to-mid 20th century logging and lumber operation in British Columbia. Established in 1925 by Robert Bartlett McLean, his wife Cora and their three sons, it continued as a family-run operation until 1965. McLean Mill was designated a national historic site of Canada in 1989 to commemorate its collection of extant resources related to significant aspects of the forest industry. Whether you wish to take in the history or to go for scenic walk with your family or fur baby, you wont be disappointed. The surroundings are breathtaking and informative.
