Location: The best access road is off of Highway 3 about 6km east of Bridesville. Follow Johnstone Creek Road for 25km to the park. It is a maintained gravel road and takes approximately 40 minutes from the highway turnoff. Other access points off of Highway 33 and from OK Falls are not well marked and are unmaintained forestry roads that are not suitable for vehicle traffic. Conkle Lake is a secluded lake in the sub-alpine Kettle Valley area that offers rainbow trout fishing, canoeing, swimming and hiking. Come enjoy the sunshine, sandy beach and pristine views at this out-of-the-way gem! Firewood is available for sale. Open from May Long Weekend through Labour Day.

My individual custom tours are visiting the most beautiful scenic places around Northern Vancouver Island while having a chance to photograph and watch grizzly bears, black bears, killer whales, humpback whales, dolphins, bald eagles and other wildlife. All tours are lead by professional (35+ years) wildlife and nature photographer Rolf Hicker. Artique is a co-op gallery of close to 30 Powell River working artists and craftspersons who collectively display their work for sale. These include greeting cards and works on paper, jewellery of metals and precious stones, pottery, soaps and lotions, photography, watercolour, oil, pastel and acrylics on canvas and board, fine textiles, stained glass, glass beads, and wood and stone sculptures.
