A gem of Vancouver Island Heritage; Filberg Park is nine acres of breathtakingly landscaped waterfront green space, gardens and heritage buildings, in Comox, British Columbia. The park features 130 varieties of trees, seasonal gardens, and hundreds of rhododendrons.At the heart of the site is the 1930s heritage lodge, the former home of local pioneers Robert and Florence Filberg. Filberg Heritage Lodge and Park have become a popular venue for picnics, weddings, art shows and special events including the popular Filberg Festival held each year on BC Day long weekend in August. Amenities include the Filberg Gift Shop* and Filberg Tea House. Both are open seasonally May to September.Entry to the Lodge is by donation and the park is free of charge except during special events. *Lodge and Gift Shop are open subject to volunteer availability.

During the pandemic, the Sidney Street Market was transformed into the "Sidney Outdoor Markets". Its new location off Beacon Avenue, next to the Mary Winspear Centre, hosts two markets per week throughout the summer. The new location offers plenty of nearby parking, larger, less crowded laneways to walk, convenient public washrooms and a wonderful variety of local and regional growers, producers, artists, musicians and creators that consist of many of our old favourites along with loads of new, exciting vendors. A 900 square foot building, that once was the MP shack, the museum is located to the south side of Patricia Way when entering the camp via way a RV Papa. The Museum was created in conjunction with the Cadet Training Center and the Vernon Museum to assist in the presentation and education of the Cadet Program in Canada as well as the history of the Vernon Military Camp.

Kayaking is the best way to see Victoria. We specialize in safe, fun and educational kayak tours of Victoria's Harbour and waterfront. Our floating location at Fisherman's Wharf is a 10 minute walk from the cruise ship terminal and 20 minutes from downtown on the scenic boardwalk. We are the closest kayak shop to the Juan de Fuca straight, so when conditions allow, we will paddle along the coast to the kelp forests and an island the harbour seals frequent. Along the way we may see different shore birds like eagles, osprey, oystercatchers, cormorants, and the great blue heron. Starfish, jelly fish and kelp crabs are usually hiding just below the surface. Kayaking is easy and we make it easier by offering paddling jackets, gloves and a bottle of water. Plus on our kayak launch you won't even get your feet wet!
