If you're going to look around a little while you're on north Vancouver Island, BC Ferries is nearby with connections to Alert Bay and Sointula. There are plenty of whale and bear watching tours, kayak tours, and fishing charters available at Port McNeill's stunning waterfront. The Visitors Information Centre has all the information you need to get to cultural places like the U'mista Cultural Centre, or to world class hiking in Cape Scott Park. The Vagabond Lodge, is a boutique lodge located at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort Golden BC. All rooms are located on the upper level of this 3 story building. There is no elevator just so you are aware. The beautifully decorated rooms all have great views of the majestic Rocky Mountains. All bedrooms have private bathrooms with shower/tub enclosures and all bathrooms have heated floors. Vagabond Lodge does not have air conditioning but for the few days in the mountains where it may be considered hot by some standards, the windows all open to the fresh mountain air. A hearty and healthy breakfast featuring sourdough bread, eggs, pancakes, yogurt, cereals and more is complimentary. Lower level features a pool table, games area with all sorts of board games and access to sauna and outdoor hot tub.
