The Sentinel is a lakefront luxury B&B and Retreat Center located a short 50 minute drive from Nelson or a 7 minutes from the heart of Kaslo. Explore the waters and shoreline surrounding Alder Bay on a three and a half hour guided kayak tour. Using stable double kayaks, these kayak tours are suitable for everyone even those with no prior kayaking experience. As we quietly kayak along the shore we often see bald eagles dotting the trees and curious harbour seals popping their heads above the water as we pass.

A 300 acre nature reserve with level walking trails, bird viewing blinds, observation tower and interpretive centre (free) . Known for a large nesting colony of Great Blue Herons which nest from March through July. Great bird and wildlife watching. Check website for free community programs and special events. Trail open dawn to dusk. Rotary Interpretive Centre is open 10 am to 4 pm.

Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden is a site of cultural heritage, learning, and reflection in Vancouver's historic Chinatown. Modeled after Ming Dynasty private scholars gardens, it is the first of its kind built outside of China. Tofino Botanical Gardens are 12 acres of gardens, forest, and shoreline that explore the relationship between culture and nature. A network of paths and boardwalk will take you through our Cultivated Gardens, Sculpture Park, and Old-Growth Temperate Rainforest, where clearings have been transformed into a series of pocket gardens. Some of these gardens display plants that thrive in temperate rainforests around the world including Chile and Japan. Others celebrate cultural groups that have made Clayoquot Sound their home now and in the past, particularly the Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations, early Japanese fishing families, and, of course, hippies. The Gardens extend to the Tofino Mudflats, an incredible expanse of intertidal mud teeming with life, revealed twice a day at low tide. Campbells Gold Honey Farm & Meadery is family owned and operated, based in south west Abbotsford, BC. We are passionate about all things bees, from beekeeping and agri-education, to offering premium beehive products, with a focus on specialty honeys and honey wine (mead) production.
