Spirit of the West kayaking Adventures has been offering sea kayaking tours and trips around Vancouver Island, BC, Canada, since 1996. Our most popular tours travel to the orca waters of Johnstone Strait, British Columbia to kayak in the realm of the whales. We also offer trips to Desolation Sound, the Broughton Archipelago, Nuchatlitz Marine Park on the west coast of Vancouver Island and the Great Bear Rainforest on the Central Coast. Malahat SkyWalk opened in July 2021 as the newest outdoor experience providing the ultimate natural high on Vancouver Island located 35 minutes north of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Accessible by all ages and wheelchair-friendly, it will immerse visitors in nature as they embark on a 600 metre-long elevated walkway through an expansive Arbutus and Douglas Fir forest, leading to a 10-storey, architecturally-inspiring spiral tower lookout the first of its kind in B.C. Rising 250 metres above sea level, guests can enjoy 360-degree views of islands, inlets, fjords, forests and mountains in two countries. An adventure net suspended partially across the centre of the Spiral Tower provides daring guests with another breathtaking perspective on the spiraling structure below before returning to ground level with an option to take an exhilarating ride down a 20 metre (65 ft) spiral slide. The Nechako White Sturgeon Conservation Centre hatchery program is dedicated to maintaining genetic diversity and conserving the population of the Nechako White Sturgeon. The hatchery is used to rear sturgeon eggs into one-year old sturgeon for release into the river. Research projects and programs also run out of the hatchery. Visitor Hours: Tours currently available by appointment only. As of Thursday April 24, tours will be available at 2pm daily (including weekends). Specific tour time requests are still available and approved based on operations and staff availability. Mackie Lake House is an historic 1910 home situated on the shores of Kalamalka Lake in Coldstream BC. It is operated by a non-profit society and offers tours, special events, and facility rentals. Join us for a guided tour or site visit (open seasonally from June - September). Mackie Lake House is a picnic-encouraged site. Out of respect to our local wildlife, no pets are permitted.

Our brewery lounge and tasting room is Quesnel's favourite meeting place. We are fully licensed and serve locally-sourced artisanal pizza and other delicious snacks to go with a rotating assortment of our brews (12 taps). We also serve wine and cider, and non-alcoholic as well as root beer, ginger ale, and cola. Settle in at our custom-built TIMBER KINGS table, or enjoy the fresh air on our patio - accompanied CHILDREN are always welcome.

The Canadian Museum of Flight is a great family day out. We inspire young people towards a passion for aviation and for science and technology more generally. We tell stories of our rich Canadian aviation history, stories people want to hear and stories people want told. Our hangar is packed with interesting displays and models, fascinating memorabilia and more. Our Museum is a very hands-on facility. Many of our aircraft can be touched, gently. Children can discover aircraft made not only from aluminum, but also from wood and fabric. Weather permitting, several aircraft are open for sitting and dreaming by kids (of all ages). Photo op!
