Oyama Lake Eco Lodge is situated on a volcanic lake with 27 islands, 15 cabin rentals, as well as a few camping sites. Stay the night or come up for the day and rent a boat. We offer canoes, kayaks, pedal boats, paddle boards, motorized fishing boats as well as lager pontoon boats. Oyama lake is great for fly fishing, trolling behind a boat, swimming, relaxing or exploring. Three of our cabins come with private washrooms, however, there is also a shared ladies powder room and a shower house on-site. All cabins have their own fire-pit as well as access to a communal BBQ area. There is a small store on-site, but it is recommended that you bring up your own food and water. We are located 20 minutes up a logging road from the town of Oyama. Hope to see you soon!

Rich with Kwakwakawakw Culture & History. The Umista Cultural Centre has the famed Potlatch Collection, taken by Canadian Government in 1922. U'mista also has summer programs from Tuesdays to Fridays July and August check their facebook site for schedules closer to summer months. The Alert Bay Library-Museum has many photographs of local history & items from early settlement years. The Ecological Park has boardwalk through a marsh and short trails surounding the park. This well-treed campground offers a private and peaceful setting for campers of all kinds, with a deep forest on the south end in the first-come, first-served section, transitioning to a wetland on the north end in the reservable section. Lowhee Campground has 47 campsites that can be booked in advance, as well as 33 campsites in the first-come, first-served section. It features a playground, three washroom buildings with flush toilets and potable water, as well as a coin-operated shower house. Bear-proof garbage and recycling bins are offered in central locations throughout the campground. All campsites are equipped with a wheelchair-accessible picnic table and campfire ring. Firewood is available for an additional fee of $10 per day. Campsites are an average of 50 feet long and 14 feet wide and can accommodate most trailers and RVs when backed into the sites. Pull-through sites are available in the Forest Rose Campground. Lowhee Campground is located along the west side of Barkerville Highway, 2 km north of the Barkerville Visitor Centre. Guests can travel back and forth from the Historic Zone to Lowhee via the highway, or via a well-groomed walking path alongside the highway. Lowhee Campground is part of the 1,100-hectare property that forms Barkerville Historic Town & Park and is managed by Barkerville Heritage Trust.
