Opened in July 2010, the HI Whistler is a purpose-built hostel that was originally used as part of the Whistler Athletes' Village during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. This brand new facility sets the standard in hostelling with all the amenities you'd expect and then some. There's more to HI Whistler than just a place to sleep. The Whistler Lodge is a 42 bed backpacker's hostel, centrally located just 3km south of Whistler Village and 1km north of Whistler Creekside. Our historic lodge was built in 1965 by students from UBC's Varsity Outdoor Club and until recently, was operated by the Alma Mater Society of UBC. We love being so close to the night life action but this can make some of our rooms noisy (especially in the evening and weekends!- Great for all you party people! ) .
