The Sunset Motel in downtown Creston, British Columbia is only two minutes from the downtown area where you can find; shops, rinks, restaurants, golf course, etc. We offer in-room amenities of free wireless internet, air-conditioning, coffee maker and some of our rooms have fully equipped kitchenettes and jacuzzi tubs. Many golfers stay with us while they are enjoying the beauty and challenge of the Creston Golf Club (one of the best golf courses in the interior of British Columbia). Other amenities include; BBQ on request, ample parking, nearby golf and walking distance into downtown Creston. We are a pet friendly motel - We accept small well behaved dogs and cats. If you have another type of pet, give us a call to confirm we can accommodate it before you book your room. As our Creston motel is located on acreage there is plenty of space to exercise your pet after the long drive. We charge a nominal fee of $10/pet/day. We are also a motorcycle friendly motel - We offer walk-out rooms that allow you to park your motorcycle within a couple of steps of your door. It is most reassuring to be able to easily see your bike day and night. We also offer washing facilities to take that latest layer of bugs off. Our guests enjoy the natural beauty of Creston area with quiet walks in the woods and family outings at the local rivers and lakes. Higgin's Inn is a spacious well planned facility close to the most popular beach in Powell River. The suites are large former apartments, beautifully appointed, and fully equipped for short or long-term accommodation. Each suite has a full kitchen, dining room, living room private bath and one, two or three bedrooms. We also have our newest addition: A ground-floor accessibility suite with special features in the kitchen and bathroom to make our guests with mobility challenges extra comfortable. The Penthouse suite is our most popular especially for family and friends reunions.

The Victoria Golf Club, founded in 1893, is the oldest course in Canada on its original location, and second oldest in North America. The course began as 14 holes but quickly expanded to 18 in 1895. There have been at least three different lay-outs - the one played today was finalized in the mid-1920s (after a decision in 1923 to end the practice of hitting tee shots on two holes across the ever-busier Beach Drive). Our stately Clubhouse, completed in 1928, is a registered Canadian Historic Place and has undergone a number of expansions and renovations (including the most recent in 1993) and provides a grand and comfortable venue to begin your own memories. When you walk through this storied building you'll be reminded of a rich history of golf, companionship and community that spans over generations. Perhaps one of the more obscure yet heartwarming examples is a series of photos of a foursome on the course, taken annually on the same date over five decades. Golfing Legends For more than a century, famous names have graced our course, including golfing greats Harry Vardon, Byron Nelson, Joyce Wethered, Ben Hogan, Al Geiberger, Pat Bradley, George Knudson, Sam Snead, Dawn Coe Jones and Johnny Miller just to mention a few. Numerous celebrities, like Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Wayne Gretzky, Pamela Anderson and Kiefer Sutherland have also been drawn to the seaside links through the years, not only to play but also in support of charitable causes. History continues to be made in the annual Victoria and Seattle GC inter-club, a home and home friendly that is the oldest international golf tournament in North America (since 1895). The Seniors North West Championship, representing players of various levels from the U.S Pacific northwest, British Columbia and Alberta, continues to be hosted by VGC for eighty plus years now.

It all started back in 1924 with a vision to create a course that would stand the test of time.
