The park is such a popular stop over for tourists that the campgound fills up early each day during the summer months. Liard is also open year-round. There is a hot spring open to the public with water temperatures ranging from 42° C to 52° C. Facilities include a change house and composting toilet. A boardwalk, which leads to the hot spring pools(A natural river of hot water), passes through a warm water swamp and boreal forest that supports rich and diverse plant communities as well as mammal and bird species.

You wont find any sulphur herewhat you will find is a spring-fed freshwater lake brimming with Trout, Kokanee, Burbot (freshwater cod) and Rainbow Trout. Located on the shores of beautiful Comox Lake, the Cumberland Lake Park Campground consists of a total of 59 sites ; 20 are serviced (electricity and water), 6 are RV unserviced, and 33 are unserviced. Site options consist of forested and lakefront choices. There are also two group sites that will accommodate up to 25 people and is available for booking all summer. Max stay is 14 days during July and August. Monthly rates are available in May, June and September.
