Bethlehem Centre is a cottage-at-the-lake style retreat and conference centre. Ideal for residential groups of 10-40 people, the Centre offers an all-inclusive experience with full meal service and on-site opportunities for quiet reflection and spiritual path-making. Situated on the shores of Westwood Lake at the foot of Mount Benson in Nanaimo, the Centre is a 5-minute walk from a swimming beach, is surrounded by forest, and is connected to miles of hiking trails. The Centre has an outdoor Chartres-style labyrinth, a finger labyrinth museum, a gift shop, a library, an organic vegetable garden and a contained eco-system outdoor pond. Established in 1916 as part of the Dominion Experimental Farm, now the Summerland Research and Development Centre, the 6 hectare, Summerland Ornamental Gardens was designed to help residents, choose ornamental plants for their gardens that would be suitable for the dry Okanagan climate. In collaboration with Agriculture Canada, the site is maintained by the non-profit society, the Friends of Summerland Ornamental Gardens. As you stroll through the Gardens you will have views of Okanagan Lake, Giant's Head Mountain and the Trout Creek Trestle railroad bridge, an outstanding engineering feat constructed for the Kettle Valley Railway. Visit the demonstration garden beds and learn principles of water-smart gardening with the diverse Welcome Garden, Xeriscape Garden, Butterfly Garden, Vegetable garden, Canadian Heritage Rose garden, Fairy Garden and more. The gardens are open year-round. Our society gratefully requests a minimum donation $5.00 per person to keep us growing.

Wya Point Resort is situated amongst old-growth forest and private, pristine beaches of the Yuu-thlu-ilth-aht (Ucluelet) First Nation peoples. Located on the rugged and remote west coast of Vancouver Island, we offer luxurious lodge accommodations, waterfront yurts and beachfront camping. We have nine timber lodges that were built to LEED Platinum standards using locally harvested red cedar. Each lodge is uniquely designed by a local carver and artist, and named for an animal of the Yuu-thlu-ilth-aht culture. The lodges come equipped with a full kitchenette, fireplace, bathroom, bedroom (1 or 2), cedar deck and chairs, and floor to ceiling windows that overlook Ucluth beach. Our beachfront yurts are open year-round and have private access to Wya beach. All come with a gas stove for heat, cedar deck and chairs, linens and basic kitchen essentials. While our yurts and lodges have daily housekeeping, guests are advised to bring their own potable drinking water and food.
