The Ferry Building Gallery is a public community gallery operated by the District of West Vancouver. Located at the center of the Ambleside Landing area in one of West Vancouvers oldest buildings, it serves as a hub for arts and culture. The gallery presents up to 18 exhibitions annually to more than 500 visitors each week. The mandate of the gallery is to support the development of emerging and established artists from the North Shore, the Sea-to-Sky Corridor and the Sunshine Coast. By organizing art lectures, workshops, tours and programs that reflect the cultural diversity of the North Shore, the gallery provides valuable and enriching artist-led experiences to the community. The Ferry Building Gallery is located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Squamish Nation, Tsleil-Waututh Nation and Musqueam Nation. We recognize and respect them as nations in this territory and their historic connection to the lands and waters around us since time immemorial.

Welcome to the Museum of the Cariboo Chilcotin. We are situated on Broadway Avenue South, Williams Lake serving on the traditional territory of the Secwepemc, Tsilhqot'in and Dakelh Nations. The Museum is a tribute to Williams Lake and the Cariboo Chilcotin regions. If you are looking to step back in time come on in we would love to open our doors to you. Nestled in the Cariboo Chilcotin, the Museum provides history and displays on the region, local ranching and rodeo heritage, it is also the home to the BC Cowboy Hall of Fame as well as exhibits on Indigenous Peoples, Railway, Mining, Medical, and Forestry just to name a few. Admission is by donation supporting local and provincial heritage. We gratefully acknowledge the support of the Federal Government of Canada, the Province of British Columbia, as well as the City of Williams Lake and the Cariboo Regional District in partnership with the Central Cariboo Arts and Culture Society.

Desert Centre

The Osoyoos Desert Centre is a 67 acre nature interpretive facility where visitors can learn about desert ecology, habitat restoration and conservation of endangered ecosystems in the South Okanagan. Guests are invited to explore Canada’s desert by taking a guided or self-guided tour along a 1.5 km elevated wooden boardwalk. In addition, the Centre features an interpretive facility with hands-on exhibits and a native plant demonstration garden. Visitors can also browse through our Gift Shop, enjoy a snack in the outdoor picnic area, or relax at one of the kiosks and take in the spectacular views.

Facilities: Public beach, day-use picnic area, flush toilets, change house. Location: Off Hwy 3, in the town of Christina Lake. Christina Lake has a reputation of being one of the warmest lakes in all of Canada and is very popular with families. With its 300 metres of fine sandy beach, people flock to this swimming destination in the summer months. There is no overnight camping at this location. The closest provincial park campground with overnight accommodation is Gladstone (Texas Creek campground), 10 km east of Christina Lake. Nearby provincial campgrounds that should be able to accommodate last-minute campers in July and August include Boundary Creek, Jewel Lake, and Nancy Greene.

Using stable double kayaks, these kayak tours are suitable for everyone even those with no prior kayaking experience. As we quietly kayak along the shore we often see bald eagles dotting the trees and curious harbour seals popping their heads above the water as we pass.
