Historic Joy Kogawa House is the childhood home of Canadian author Joy Kogawa. Joy and her family lived in the house until 1942, when they were sent to an internment camp along with thousands of other Canadians of Japanese descent. Beautiful campground bordering Swift Creek on the edge of Valemount, B.C., Close enough to walk into the town of Valemount. We have 42 service sites with power, water, picnic tables, fire pits and 30 tent sites with picnic tables and fire pits. Washrooms newly renovated in 2013, free hot showers, laundry facilities, sani dump in campground, free WiFi, sell bundled wood and have a small store in office. The Chinook salmon spawn in the creek in early August to mid August and it is a sight to see!
