The Armstrong Spallumcheen Visitor Centre is the place to begin your North Okanagan experience. Our knowledgeable and friendly team are here to assist in everything from accommodation to directions or information on any of the many events and festivals. Please note: this centre is normally closed for Statutory Holidays from September - June.

Vancouver Island Photo Tours
My individual custom tours are visiting the most beautiful scenic places around Northern Vancouver Island while having a chance to photograph and watch grizzly bears, black bears, killer whales, humpback whales, dolphins, bald eagles and other wildlife. All tours are lead by professional (35+ years) wildlife and nature photographer Rolf Hicker. A maximum of 4 guests per tour makes them ideal for families, photographers of all levels, special needs as well as couples.
HI Whistler
Opened in July 2010, the HI Whistler is a purpose-built hostel that was originally used as part of the Whistler Athletes' Village during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. This brand new facility sets the standard in hostelling with all the amenities you'd expect and then some. There's more to HI Whistler than just a place to sleep. Grab a coffee and snack at Cheaky's Cafe in the hostel lobby, lounge on the outdoor decks with mountain views, store your bike, skis, and boards in the equipment storage room, hang out in the media room with its 52" HDTV and meet some cool new folks over a free game of pool in the lounge.

Adventure Ready - Our crosstrek vehicles are fully outfitted for hassle-free adventure. Pack your sleeping bags, pillows, groceries, bucket list, and adventurous selves and we have the rest covered! Connect your smartphone to apple carplay or android auto and hit the road with ease… and a map! The rooftop tents comfortably sleep two adults, and there are storage options to bring an extra tent so a few more friends or kids can tag along. Enjoy interior lighting for late-night reading, a solar power bank to keep your phone charged, power station to charge your batteries between stops and a 3” foam mattress. Plus, we include two headlamps to make your way around safely after dusk. Full rear hatch kitchen with electric cooler and a two burner stove, sink, power station, faucet and prep area Pop up the hatch and you’ll find a functional kitchen with all of the fixings. This includes an electric cooler/freezer combo (no ice needed!), sink, and two-burner stove with propane, plus all the cookware, utensils, and cutlery down to a corkscrew and can opener that you’ll need while exploring. A jackery 500 power station fuels the fridge… this has enough juice to keep it cold for two days. If you’re putting some clicks on the crosstrek in between, it will charge as you drive and last much longer, and you can charge anything else that needs a boost in the meantime.
Cowichan Bay Kayaking and Adventure Centre
Join us at Cowichan Bay Kayaking and Adventure Centre for a tour of the Cowichan Estuary in kayaks or canoes. Or come with us on a birding tour of this amazing birding area. Don't forget that we do rentals of sea kayaks, sit on top kayaks, canoes and stand up paddle boards as well.
Nanaimo Museum
Nanaimo Museum: Discover Nanaimos fascinating history in our museum located in the VI Conference Centre. The main gallery offers a sense of what life was like for Nanaimo's earliest settlers and the Snuneymuxw First Nation. Our award winning replica coal mine is a popular stop. The museum also manages the Bastion, an original Hudson's Bay Company post built in 1853. Horseshoe Bay Motel
Horseshoe Bay's convenient location makes a perfect base-camp: for travelers planning day trips or longer excursions ~ to the West Coast and Gulf Islands, or to more northerly destinations through the interior of BC. Harbour Air Seaplanes
Connect between Comox Marina and downtown Vancouver by seaplane in less than an hour with direct daily flights from March through November. Tyax Lodge
Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing is a British Columbia original, sitting on Tyaughton Lake and surrounded by the Southern Chilcotin Mountains. The area is renowned for outdoor adventure, with an endless trail system providing some of the best alpine biking routes, hiking trails and nature walks that BC has to offer. Kayaking, canoeing, and stand-up paddleboarding are complimentary to our guests. The resort boasts a beautiful lake view dining room & patio with stunning views, high arched ceilings and a breathtaking stone fireplace. The kitchen features a seasonal a la carte menu from a passionate team of chefs. The Spa includes 3 treatment rooms, an infrared and dry sauna, eucalyptus steam room, outdoor Hot Tub, yoga studio, and therapists who can assist you after sport or during your absorption of tranquillity. Additionally, guests can choose to stay at one of the three luxury wilderness chalets at the resort. Offering private accommodations for up to 18 guests (depending on the chalet), they are perfect for a family reunion or getaway. In the summer, if camping is more your approach, guests can choose from five RV lakefront sites and one non-lakefront site. We also have five tent friendly campsites available with water, washrooms, and showers. One tent per site, four people per site maximum.

Mabel Lake Golf Course is a 9 hole golf course, designed and built by Les Furber. Our chalet style clubhouse features a fully licensed restaurant & patio, pro shop, plus banquet and meeting facilities. We also offer a variety of accommodation from luxury homes to beachfront cabins and lake view condos. Amenities include free wifi, satellite tv, swimming pool, hot tub, BBQ, etc. And if you're a pilot, we have a 2900' grass landing strip for your convenience. Everything is only a 5 minute walk away at Mabel Lake: the golf course, vacation rentals, airstrip, marina, campground, beaches, general store and liquor store. Other amenities include daily and weekly golf cart rentals, and boat and kayak rentals.
