We strive to protect, preserve and promote our heritage.
The Contemporary Art Gallery (CAG) is an independent, non-profit public art gallery and one of Canadas leading venues for contemporary art. Offering free access to everyone, we work with artists from Canada and around the world to produce exhibitions, off-site projects, residencies, learning, outreach, community engagement programs, events and publications. Each of these interdependent strands of programming varies in scale, duration and location to challenge how and where we might engage with contemporary visual art.
Explore the fully restored and furnished late Victorian London Farm House (1898), illustrating rural life in Richmond between 1890 and 1920. London Farm is one of the earliest farm sites in Richmond, and features the home of Charles and Henrietta London, who built a small house on site in 1898 and then added to it in 1906. The farm produced dairy products, oats, wheat barley, fruit from an orchard and vegetables. This riverfront land became known as Londons landing and a wharf was built on the property to provide greater access to the river to send farm products to market. Today, visitors can enjoy beautiful heritage perennial flowers, a kitchen and herb garden, an outside exhibit of large, antique farm equipment and chickens.
Amaruq is based out of Victoria, BC, and offers guided motorcycle adventures spanning the entire length of Vancouver Island, as well as the Chilcotin Plateau and the Rockies. Our trips run anywhere from one to nine days, and our workshops are all one-day events focusing on either GPS Navigation on Motorcycles or Adventure Touring Skills.
