Macaloney's Island Distillery & Twa Dogs Brewery is a producer of premium malt whiskies and superb craft beers. Our basic tour lasts 45 mins and begins in our visitors centre and flows the way the spirits go, past the grist mill where you can taste some of the various strains of malted & un- malted barley, or other cereals that we as a craft brewer as well as a distiller get to play and experiment with. Onward into the heart of the Brew & Still house through the smells of the mash tun & wash backs, past the gleaming swan necked Stills and then up into the warehouse and bottling hall before returning back to the visitors centre for a wee dram of two of the whiskies in our Macaloney Cask Selection series along with three of our craft beers. The Flora's/Bamfield Inn property is a combination of 3 buildings. Newly renovated, the 12 'room' inn (in the back) has private accommodations and bathrooms, with a common kitchen and living room area for guests to use. The front building hosts an ocean front event room and family style accommodation unit for those that want to be right on the water and at the boardwalk. The middle and largest building on the property is a 100 years old, with TONS of history, and will soon to be a restaurant, a bar and have 8 upper suites/rooms (opening approx. May 2024). Bavin Glassworks is a family owned and operated working Art Studio and Gallery specializing in Blown Glass. Established in 1988 by Pat Bavin, Bavin Glassworks continues to operate much the same way as it always has. People are welcome to view the glassblowers at work when they are in the studio, and then can view and purchase the wares made on site in the attached gallery.
